What this covers
This notice covers www.research-tree-services.com, the site you are reading. The investor platform at www.research-tree.com is a separate service with its own notice.
What we collect, and when
We collect information in two places, both of which you choose to use.
- The contact form. Your name, work email, company, which services you ticked and your message.
- The research feed set-up journey. Your name, work email, role, the company you are acting for, the website domain the feed will sit on, and the feed settings you chose. We use the domain of your email address to check that you are connected to the company you are arranging a feed for.
We do not ask for payment details anywhere on this site. Subscriptions are invoiced separately.
What we do with it
We use it to answer your enquiry, to set up and support the service you asked for, and to raise the invoice for it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to send you marketing you did not ask for.
Who else sees it
Only the suppliers we need to run the service: our hosting provider, our e-signature provider for the agreement, and our accounting system for the invoice. Each processes it on our instructions.
Analytics and cookies
If you say yes when we ask, we use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they arrive, so we can make the site more useful. It tells us about pages and visits, not about who you are. This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers, whatever you choose.
Nothing is collected until you accept. If you do, Google Analytics stores two small cookies (named
_ga and _ga_ followed by a code) so it can tell one visit from another, and
Google keeps the data for up to 14 months. If you decline, it stays off.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. Choosing Decline there switches analytics off and removes those cookies from your browser.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become clients are kept for up to two years. Client records are kept for as long as the service runs, and afterwards for as long as our accounting and legal obligations require.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email robert.mundy@research-tree.com and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
